HOW TO FIX SHOCKWAVE FLASH CRASHES IN GOOGLE CHROME
If you are using Google Chrome and you are experiencing repeated Shockwave Flash Crashes, Freezing, and problems with it going very slow, then the information below might help you out. Chrome has an internal installation of flash, and this can conflict with the OS Installation of flash. The result is serious browser lag, temporary lockup, and then a browser-wide crash . Disabling Chromes internal installation, will stop the conflict and prevent this happening.
To solve this problem, all you have to do, is disable the Chrome installation of Flash.
Open a new tab. In the URL bar, type (or copy and paste) - about:plugins
You will then get a page titled "Plug-Ins"
In the top right corner you will see "+ Details" and you should click on this, to expand the details on the list.
Scroll down, until you find the Flash Files. You should have two of them. However, some people have three, but one is already "greyed" out. You can ignore this one.
You should have a Google Chrome version and a Windows version. All you need to do is "disable" the Google Chrome version. You do this, by clicking on the blue "disable"
Finally, you will then need to close down Google Chrome and re-start it.
I will also give the link to a website, where these instructions are listed, alongside some pics, as I realise that some people like to see pictures.
Just click on the link, and it will take you directly to the website.

Remember, you’ll no longer be getting automatic updates with each Chrome upgrade. Make sure to check for updates at Adobe’s Flash download page and/or turn on the update check in your local installation of Adobe Flash.
If for whatever reason disabling the built-in Flash doesn’t help, we suggest playing around with different combinations. Try turning off the OS Flash installation instead of the built-in Flash installation for example. Also, try visiting a flash-based web site while Incognito Mode (when you enter Incognito Mode it turns off all your Extensions which may or may not be causing issues with Flash).
Finally, as a last ditch effort, you can reinstall Chrome (if Flash works in every other browser but Chrome, this is likely the only option you have left).
Many people have asked if there is a similar fix ,for Firefox. I have had a search around, and have found the following link:
